Marras’ collection was inspiration was inspired by his mother — who must be an utterly chic and unique individual. There was definitely an air of maturity — to put it honestly, it reminded me of a fabulous re-invention of mom-clothes. There were few tight, skin hugging pieces and a lot of flowing material and, what ran the risk of being, very frumpy patterns. But the florals worked beautifully with the cuts and the designs. They were not ideal to put together but each worked so well with the other aspects of the look that they created something beautiful. The coats in the collection remind me of my great-aunt’s vintage coats from the early, early 90′s. They’re so beautiful and intricate and have such a historic feel to them. The embroidery that Marras’ inlayed on the jackets was extraordinary as well. This was really a unique collection and pulled from an area of fashion that has not been done so far this season.
