Fall 2011: Céline

4 Nov

Shock and awe ladies. Philo’s minimalism and modernism was exactly on point with this collection. The problem with Céline is the collections are always beautiful and just exactly perfect, but there is not much to talk about. Everything is perfect — the lines, the cuts, the materials and elegance. The coats were borderline perfection — not a cut out of place. The furs were so magnificent — the long vests are just beautiful. My mom and I found a vintage fur coat in a store, took the sleeves off and turned it into something like this last year. It was phenomenal. Although nothing like the Celine version with the red inner lining. The leather patches on the dress in such similar tones are so amazing. There was an odd segment with what looked like leather with a finish in a wood print… not my style, looks too much like a bureau. Otherwise, it is an amazing collection, Philo does it again.
