Fall 2011: D&G

4 Nov

This is so not what I was expecting. While Spring’s collection revolved around florals, Fall’s revolved around letters and print. In the beginning this was a nice idea, although it made absolutely no progression at all throughout the collection. There were neon jackets over the print, flowing dresses in sheer with letters, multi-colored, one-tone, neutrals…there was variety in color and style but no variety in idea. When the high-fashion gowns came at the end, small cocktail ostrich skirts with cropped tops over them…I mean, there were a series of ten or so in every color. The utter lack of variety and determination to uphold the theme was the downfall of the collection.
