Fall 2011: Theyskens’ Theory

4 Nov

Oliver Theyskens’ first runway show for Theory – this is an occasion. I thought that this was to die for. Completely worth the insane amount of hype that it has been given. Someone wrote an article about how while at Rochas, Theyskens had never been able top put pants on the runway — an leisure I never realized one would crave. Yet from the amount of pants on the runway — in absolutely all shapes and cuts — it is clear that Theyskens had been craving it and definitely enjoying his new freedom. The arrival of this line a few weeks ago in department stores lasted a miniscule amount of time — the top I had in my Bloomingdales cart was gone when I went to buy it after placing it in my cart a mere hours earlier. The coats were what I thought was to die for though — long, draped and elegant, they really created an unusual atmosphere. Oh also, before I forget — the boots. Third look. I need them. Those are absolutely magnificent.
