Fall 2011: Zac Posen

4 Nov

Posen is quoted as saying that he wanted to take away some of the drama out of these collections and get back to the basics. He definitely did that but it definitely detracted from the intensity and passion that usually surrounds the collection. I loved the jackets. They were smartly cut and were simple with just enough intricacy to really engage one and take them up a level from a street jacket. The gowns though were just boring. Posen usually BRINGS it to the runway — the only piece that really brought it in my opinion is the last one which is just beautiful and elegant and intimidating. That’s what I like about it. It’s intense.
