Fall 2012: Diane von Furstenberg

13 Feb

DVF put on a wildly sophisticated show this season. The difference between her Spring and Fall shows tends to be a startling one — with Spring cheery and full of life, patterns and colors while Fall errs more to the demure, sophisticate with a bit of an edge. The outerwear was amazing and stunning while the incorporation of sequin and metallics into them was stunning and came off professional rather than flashy and over the top. The playsuit and the silver sprinkled take on an office outfit were adorable as was her merging of mesh and leather — the way it parallels and creates a perfect piece. The end series was composed of one neon dress after another in multiple colors yet with surprisingly simple silhouettes — the emphasis was on color and intensity rather than composition.
