Fall 2012: Proenza Schouler

16 Feb

Proenza Schouler –> revolutionaries if I’ve ever seen them. Even when the collection doesn’t suit  my tastes, technically they are always stunning. The duo looked East for the first time — inspired by Yoko Ono in the 70s, the influence of the East in New York. Schouler made boxy chic not just a trend but a sign of fabulous taste and fashion instincts. There was a vague Karate feel to the beginning of the collection in the way the pieces wrapped on themselves and were completely white. The series in navy was what moved me the most — it was a bit Balenciaga-like with the boxy, fabulous cuts that should have come off as unflattering but was not in the least. Magnificent. Truly magnificent. Once again they set the stage for fashion’s growth.
